고양특례시와 파주시가 40년간 이어온 농업 교류의 전통을 바탕으로 미래 농업 혁신과 지속 가능한 농업 발전을 위한 협력을 한층 강화한다.

고양특례시는 지난 10일 파주시 문산읍 행정복지센터에서 고양·파주 농업 상생 교류사업의 일환인 '제40회 농촌지도자 고양·파주 한마음대회'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 한국농촌지도자 파주시연합회가 주관하고 고양특례시와 파주시가 공동으로 마련했으며, 양 지역 농촌지도자회원과 관계자 등 250여 명이 참석해 40년간 이어온 교류의 의미를 되새기고 미래 농업 발전 방안을 함께 모색했다.

고양시와 파주시는 지난 1980년대부터 영농기술과 농업 정보를 공유하며 지역 농업의 경쟁력을 높이기 위한 협력 관계를 이어왔다. 

올해 열린 40주년 행사는 단순한 기념을 넘어 기후위기와 농촌 고령화, 농업 인력 부족 등 농업 현안에 공동 대응하기 위한 협력 의지를 확인하는 자리로 마련됐다.

행사는 40주년 기념식과 식전 공연을 시작으로 고양·파주 농업교류의 역사를 담은 기념영상 상영, 지역 농산물 체험, 문화교류 프로그램 등 다양한 행사로 진행됐다. 

참석자들은 지난 40년간 쌓아온 신뢰와 협력의 성과를 공유하는 한편 앞으로의 상생 발전 방향에 대해서도 의견을 나눴다.

특히 양 지역 농촌지도자들은 스마트농업과 탄소중립을 미래 농업의 핵심 과제로 제시하며 디지털 기술을 활용한 농업 혁신과 친환경 영농 확산에 함께 노력하기로 뜻을 모았다. 

기후변화에 대응하기 위한 저탄소 농업기술 보급과 농업 분야 온실가스 감축 실천도 지속적으로 추진한다는 계획이다.

이날 행사에는 원종규 경기도농촌지도자연합회장을 비롯해 김포·이천·용인·동두천 등 인근 시·군 농촌지도자연합회 관계자들이 참석해 40주년을 축하했으며, 윤후덕·박정 국회의원도 함께해 농업 현장의 의견을 청취하고 지속 가능한 농업 정책 지원 의지를 밝혔다.

이용연 고양시농촌지도자연합회장은 "이번 행사는 단순한 교류를 넘어 서로를 신뢰하며 함께 성장해 온 40년의 역사를 확인하는 뜻깊은 자리"라며 "앞으로도 지속적인 소통과 협력을 통해 미래농업을 함께 만들어가는 든든한 동반자가 되기를 기대한다"고 말했다.
