고양특례시가 시민들의 적극적인 분리배출 참여를 바탕으로 2026년 상반기 재활용 가능 자원 수거에서 우수한 성과를 거두며 자원순환도시 조성에 속도를 내고 있다.

시에 따르면 올해 상반기 동안 수거된 재활용 가능 자원은 투명페트병 955톤, 종이팩 73톤, 폐건전지 67톤 등 총 1,095톤에 달했다. 

수거된 자원은 새로운 제품의 원료로 재활용돼 폐기물 발생을 줄이고 온실가스 감축에도 기여하는 등 탄소중립 실현의 기반이 되고 있다.

고양시는 시민들의 자발적인 분리배출 참여를 확대하기 위해 다양한 보상 제도도 함께 운영하고 있다. 

각 행정복지센터에서는 투명페트병과 종이팩, 폐건전지 등을 0.5kg 이상 가져오면 10리터 종량제봉투 1매로 교환해주는 재활용품 교환사업을 추진하고 있다.

또한 시민들이 보다 편리하게 재활용품을 배출할 수 있도록 관내 20곳에 자원순환가게를 운영하며 배출량에 따른 보상을 제공하고 있다.
