고양특례시 마두도서관이 도서관의 새로운 역할을 모색한다.

단순히 책을 읽는 공간을 넘어 지역의 이야기를 생산하고 공유하는 공공 미디어의 거점으로 탈바꿈하기 위해 '1인 미디어 영상동아리'를 오는 2월부터 6월까지 운영한다고 12일 밝혔다.

이번 영상동아리는 미디어 창작실을 기반으로 지역주민을 마을의 문화와 역사를 기록하는 시민활동가로 성장시키는 것을 목표로 한다. 

특히 청소년과 시민의 독서경험을 영상으로 확장하고 사회적으로 공유하는 새로운 시도에 나선다는 점에서 주목된다.

상반기 영상동아리는 청소년과 성인을 대상으로 특화 운영된다. 

청소년은 북트레일러 영상 제작을 통해 독서 경험을 자신만의 언어와 화면으로 재해석하는 창작활동을 펼친다.

성인 과정은 한층 심화된다. 

북트레일러 제작은 물론 마을의 일상과 변화를 직접 취재하고 주민 인터뷰를 진행해 마을 기록활동가로서 마을뉴스를 제작하게 된다.

도서관 관계자는 "향토특성화 도서관의 미디어창작실 장비와 공간을 적극 활용한 단계별 교육과 실습으로 사라져가는 공동체 기록을 남겨 지역의 정체성을 회복하고, 소통창구로서의 역할을 다 할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

이어 "영상이라는 매체를 통해 책을 읽는 경험과 마을을 살아가는 경험이 자연스럽게 연결되길 바란다"고 덧붙였다.

동아리 회원모집은 1월 12일부터 2월 20일까지 진행되며, 신청은 고양시도서관센터 누리집에서 할 수 있다.
