파주 세경고등학교(교장 장계홍)는 지난 7일 LG 유플러스, 파주시 교육발전특구팁과 함께 협약형 특성화고등학교 육성을 위한 협의회를 통해 학생들의 미래인재 양성에 한 단계 질 높은 교육을 기대할 수 있게 되었다.

특히 파주 LG U+ 지원 속에 파주시 인공지능 관련 우수기업 컨소시엄 지원을 하고 협력기업 중 우수기업 MOU 체결 지원 및 협약형 특성화고 추진에 TF팀 협의체 구축 지원 및 파주시 협약형 특성화고 육성사업 방향인 “인공지능” 산업에 대한 자문 지원이 다각도로 가능하게 될 것으로 전망된다.

세경고등학교 장계홍 교장은 “이번 협약형 특성화고 협의회는 지역 및 국가에 필요한 특수 산업분야, 지역 기반 산업인재를 육성하기 위해 지방자치단체와 교육청, 기업 등과 학교가 협약 및 연계를 통해 지역 맞춤 교육을 실현할 수 있게 되었다. 

또한 미래의 학교는 학교 자체 뿐만 아니라 그 지역의 기업과 단체와 함께 하는 교육을 실현할 수 있을 것이다”라고 취지를 밝혔다.

실제 협의회를 통한 다양한 기업, 지방자치단체와의 협약이 형성되면 세경고등학교는 학생에 대한 취업 지원 방안이 구체적으로 계획되고 지역사회 인재 양성을 위한 정주율 향상 방안도 수립될 수 있을 전망이다. 

교육 프로그램에서도 학생들의 진로, 취업을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 지역단체와 손잡고 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 청소년 인턴십 프로젝트를 통해 졸업 후 학생들의 진로가 다양한 분야로 구체적으로 나아갈 수 있을 전망이다.[파주=빅정호 기자]
