파주시는 4일부터 22곳의 지역 공공도서관에서 영유아들을 대상으로 북스타트 책꾸러미를 배부한다고 밝혔다.

배부되는 책꾸러미는 사서가 직접 선정한 연령별 발달 단계에 맞는 그림책 2권, 가방, 안내 책자, 북스타트가 선정한 도서목록으로 구성된다.

북스타트 책꾸러미 배부 대상자는 파주시에 주소를 둔 0~18개월(북스타트), 19~35개월(북스타트 플러스), 36개월~만 6세 미취학아동(보물상자)에 해당하는 영유아다. 

아기나 가족 중 1명이 파주시 도서관 등록 회원이어야 하며 가족관계증명서 또는 주민등록등본을 지참해 도서관에 방문하면 책꾸러미를 받을 수 있다.

올해는 더 많은 시민들이 문화적 기회를 누릴 수 있도록 지난해보다 9% 증가한 1,150꾸러미(교하·운정권역 592꾸러미, 중앙권역 558꾸러미)를 배포할 예정이다.

이와 함께 파주시 중앙도서관, 교하도서관, 가람도서관 및 금촌3동솔빛도서관에서는 3월부터 10월까지 북스타트와 연계한 책놀이 프로그램이나 양육자교육 프로그램도 운영한다.

한편 북스타트는 북스타트코리아와 파주시가 함께 펼치는 '책과 함께 인생을 시작하자'라는 취지의 사회적 육아지원 사업으로, 그림책을 매개로 아기와 부모가 풍요로운 관계를 형성하고 대화를 통해 소중한 인간적 능력을 심화시킬 수 있도록 돕는 역할을 한다.
