고양특례시의회 김운남 의장은 20일, 고양시 제2회 민생대회 조직위원회와 간담회를 열고 주민들이 직접 선정한 ‘20대 주민요구안’을 전달받았다.

이번 간담회는 “고양시 예산, 어디에 쓸지 시민이 결정하자”라는 슬로건 아래 결성된 민생대회 조직위원회의 면담 요청에 김운남 의장이 응하며 이루어졌다.

민생대회 조직위원회는 고양시민단체, 제정당, 지역 주민들이 함께 참여하는 협의체로, 지난 8월부터 10월까지 시민 설문조사와 정책 제안을 통해 20대 주요 의제를 선정하고 약 3,000명의 주민투표를 거쳐 최종안을 확정했다.

주요 요구안에는 ▲경의중앙선 배차 간격 단축, ▲냉난방비 지원, ▲고양페이 인센티브 확대 등 실질적인 시민 생활 개선을 위한 정책들이 담겼다.

민생대회 조직위원회 송영주 공동대표는 시민요구안을 제출하며, “이번 대회는 주민들이 직접 정책을 제안하고 우선순위를 정하는 과정에서 시민의 주권을 강화하는 데 의미가 있다.”며 “고양시의회가 주민 요구안을 책임 있게 검토하고 실행해 주시기 바란다.”고 말했다.

시민요구안을 전달 받은 김운남 의장은 “이번 민생대회를 통해 주민들의 생생한 목소리를 들을 수 있었다.”며 “시민들이 제안한 정책들이 시정에 반영될 수 있도록 의회 차원에서 적극적으로 검토하고 협력하겠다.”고 말했다.
