파주시는 민선 9기 출범을 맞아 시민들과 직접 소통하고 지역 현안을 점검하기 위한 ‘민선 9기 읍·면·동 소통방문’을 본격적으로 시작했다고 밝혔다.

이번 소통방문은 지난 7일 운정3동 행정복지센터를 시작으로 오는 15일까지 주말을 제외한 7일간 진행된다.

손배찬 파주시장은 20개 읍·면·동을 차례로 방문하며 주민들의 다양한 의견을 청취하고 현장 중심의 소통 행정을 강화할 계획이다.

첫 일정으로 열린 운정3동 방문에는 도·시의원을 비롯해 지역 기관·단체장 등 30여 명이 참석했다. 

행사는 손 시장의 취임 인사를 시작으로 차담 형식의 자유로운 대화가 이어졌으며, 주민들은 생활 속 불편 사항부터 지역 발전을 위한 정책 제안까지 다양한 의견을 전달했다.

시는 이날 제시된 건의사항과 아이디어를 향후 정책 수립과 사업 추진 과정에서 적극 검토해 시정에 반영한다는 방침이다.

당초 같은 날 오후 예정됐던 운정4동 방문은 운정신도시 아파트 화재 발생으로 일정이 변경됐다. 

손 시장은 화재 현장을 찾아 피해 상황을 점검하고 수습과 지원 대책을 지휘했으며, 이에 따라 운정4동 소통방문은 오는 15일 오후 5시로 연기됐다.

손배찬 파주시장은 “시정의 출발점은 언제나 현장과 시민에게 있다”며 “이번 소통방문을 통해 시민들의 다양한 목소리를 가감 없이 듣고, 이를 시정에 충실히 반영해 시민들이 일상에서 체감할 수 있는 변화를 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.

이어 “예기치 못한 화재로 큰 어려움을 겪고 계신 주민들께 깊은 위로의 말씀을 드린다”며 “조속한 피해 복구와 주민 지원이 이뤄질 수 있도록 시의 모든 행정 역량을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.

파주시는 이번 읍·면·동 순회 일정을 통해 지역별 현안을 직접 확인하고 주민들과의 소통을 더욱 확대하는 한편, 시민 의견을 바탕으로 현장 중심의 시정을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
