파주시 공릉호수가 아름다운 야간 경관을 갖춘 새로운 관광 명소로 거듭났다.

파주시는 ‘공릉관광지 경관조명 조성사업’ 전 구간 공사를 완료하고 최병갑 파주시 부시장과 장곡1리 심용보 이장 등이 참석한 가운데 현장 점검을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 야간경관 조성 사업 완료에 따른 시설 운영 상태와 안전관리 실태를 확인하기 위해 마련됐다.

공릉관광지 경관조명 조성사업은 공릉호수 순환산책로 2.2km 전 구간에 야간 경관을 조성하는 사업으로, 도비 4억 원을 포함한 총 18억 원의 예산이 투입됐다. 

사업은 1단계와 2단계로 나눠 추진됐으며, 1단계 구간 1.1km는 올해 1월 완료됐고 최근 나머지 1.1km 구간까지 마무리되면서 산책로 전체가 하나의 연속된 ‘빛의 산책로’로 연결됐다.

이번 사업은 인위적이고 화려한 조명보다는 자연환경과 조화를 이루는 은은한 빛을 활용해 공릉호수만의 차별화된 야간 경관을 연출하는 데 중점을 뒀다. 

산책로 전반의 조도를 개선해 야간 보행 안전성을 높였으며, 수변 경관을 살린 간접조명과 인도교 특화 조명을 설치해 야간에도 아름다운 호수 풍경을 감상할 수 있도록 했다. 

또한 경관 조형물과 포토존을 조성해 방문객들에게 새로운 볼거리와 즐길 거리를 제공한다.

이날 최병갑 부시장은 순환산책로와 인도교, 특화 조형물, 포토존 등을 차례로 둘러보며 시설 전반을 점검했다.

최 부시장은 “공릉호수가 낮에는 아름다운 자연경관을 즐길 수 있는 명소이자 밤에는 빛이 어우러진 힐링 공간으로 자리매김하게 됐다”라며 “시민 누구나 야간에도 안심하고 찾을 수 있는 안전하고 품격 있는 휴식 공간으로 운영될 수 있도록 지속적인 관리에 힘쓰겠다”라고 말했다.

파주시는 이번 경관조명 조성사업을 계기로 공릉호수 일대의 관광 경쟁력을 더욱 강화할 계획이다.

향후 인근에 공릉 키즈캠핑장을 조성하는 등 관광 인프라를 확충해 가족 단위 방문객과 체류형 관광 수요를 끌어들인다는 방침이다.
