고양시향동종합사회복지관이 본격적인 여름철 폭염을 앞두고 지역 내 취약계층을 위한 나눔 활동을 펼쳤다.

복지관은 지난 5일 한국남부발전 고양창릉복합건설본부와 함께 ‘여름철 폭염 대비 후원 물품 전달식’을 개최했다고 8일 밝혔다.

이번 후원은 여름철 무더위에 취약한 주민들이 보다 안전하고 건강하게 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 한국남부발전 고양창릉복합건설본부는 선풍기 50대와 냉감이불 50개를 후원하며 지역사회 나눔 실천에 동참했다.

전달식 이후 관계자들은 덕양구 용두동에 거주하는 주민 가정을 직접 방문해 선풍기와 냉감이불을 전달하고, 여름철 건강 상태와 생활 여건을 살피며 안부를 확인했다. 

기탁된 후원 물품은 폭염에 취약한 지역 주민들에게 순차적으로 전달될 예정이다.

최혁준 한국남부발전 고양창릉복합건설본부장은 “우리 이웃들이 무더운 여름을 조금이나마 안전하고 건강하게 지내는 데 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 상생할 수 있는 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 말했다.

양복선 고양시향동종합사회복지관장은 “어려운 주민들의 건강한 여름나기를 위해 뜻깊은 나눔을 실천해 주신 한국남부발전에 깊이 감사드린다”며 “폭염으로 어려움을 겪는 주민들이 보다 쾌적하고 안전한 일상을 보낼 수 있도록 지원하는 한편, 복지 사각지대 해소와 주민 삶의 질 향상을 위해 지역사회와의 협력을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
