파주시는 김경일 시장이 지난 9일 수도권 제2순환 고속도로 2공구 한강하저터널 건설 현장을 방문해 공사 진행 상황을 점검하고 안전관리를 당부했다고 밝혔다.

이날 현장 방문은 수도권 광역교통망의 핵심 인프라인 제2순환 고속도로의 조속한 완공을 위해 마련됐다. 

파주시 구간은 현재 계획된 공정에 따라 2027년 12월 준공을 목표로 공사가 진행 중이다.

김 시장은 터널 굴착 및 구조물 시공 현황을 직접 확인하고, 시공사 관계자들로부터 공정 추진 상황과 안전관리 대책에 대한 상세한 브리핑을 받았다. 

특히 근로자 안전관리 체계 준수 여부와 사고 예방을 위한 현장 조치 사항을 중점적으로 점검했다.

현장 점검에서 김 시장은 공사 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 위험 요소에 대해 철저한 관리와 선제적 대응을 주문했다.

김경일 시장은 "한강하저터널은 수도권 광역교통망의 핵심시설인 만큼, 체계적인 공정관리와 안전 확보를 통해 파주시 구간이 계획대로 2027년 12월까지 차질 없이 준공될 수 있도록 최선을 다해 달라"고 당부했다.
