고양특례시가 기후 위기로 인한 시민 건강 피해를 지원하기 위해 경기도의 '경기 기후보험' 알리기에 적극 나섰다.

이 보험은 고양시민을 포함한 등록외국인, 외국 국적 동포 등 모든 경기도민을 대상으로 하며, 오는 4월 11일부터 자동 가입된다. 

별도의 가입 절차 없이도 피해 발생 시 보상을 받을 수 있어 주목된다.

주요 보장 내용을 살펴보면, 겨울철 동상이나 저체온증 등 한랭질환 진단 시 10만 원이 지급된다. 

특히 한파나 폭설 등 기상특보가 발령된 날 빙판길 미끄러짐과 같은 날씨 원인 상해로 4주 이상 진단을 받으면 30만 원의 사고 위로금을 받을 수 있다. 

교통사고도 날씨가 원인인 경우 보상 대상에 포함된다.

개인적으로 가입한 다른 보험이 있어도 중복 보상이 가능한 점이 이 보험의 큰 장점이다.

보험금 청구는 사고 발생일로부터 3년 이내에 가능하다.

 청구서, 주민등록초본, 통장 사본, 진단서(또는 소견서)를 구비해 담당 보험사인 한화손해보험에 팩스, 이메일, 우편으로 신청하면 된다.
