파주시가 노동 권익 보호와 창업 지원을 아우르는 통합 지원 시설인 '파주시 상생지원센터'를 개소했다.

최근까지 문산도서관으로 사용되던 건물을 새롭게 단장한 파주시 상생지원센터(소재지: 개포래로 42)는 노동자 권익 보호와 창업 활성화를 하나의 공간에서 지원하는 차별화된 모델로 주목받고 있다.

개소식에는 김경일 파주시장을 비롯해 박정 국회의원, 왕지앤(王健) 베이징대학 창업훈련영 대표, 이준석 중소벤처기업진흥공단 경기북부지부장 등 노동·창업 관련 기관 및 단체 관계자 60여 명이 참석했다.

상생지원센터는 기존에 분산 운영되던 노동권익센터, 한국노총 노동상담실, 민주노총 노동상담실을 한 공간으로 통합했다. 

이를 통해 노동자들은 법률·심리 상담을 보다 편리하게 받을 수 있게 됐으며, 취약계층 노동자 지원과 노동 권익 증진 사업도 체계적으로 추진된다.

센터 3층에 마련된 '창업캠퍼스'에서는 베이징대학 창업훈련영과의 국제 협력을 기반으로 다양한 창업 지원 프로그램이 운영될 예정이다. 

주요 프로그램으로는 △글로벌 리더십 경영자과정 △동북아 서밋 포럼 △파주형 창업 프로그램 개발 △글로벌 투자유치 로드쇼 등이 계획되어 있다.

시 관계자는 "이번 상생지원센터 개소로 노동 권익 보호, 노사 상생, 창업 육성을 아우르는 통합 지원 기반을 구축하게 됐다"며 "노동 분야의 상담·교육 기능이 강화되고 청년창업 기반이 확장되면서 파주시가 지향하는 노동 친화·창업 친화 도시 조성의 중요한 전환점이 마련됐다"고 설명했다.

김경일 파주시장은 "상생지원센터가 노동자에게는 실질적인 권익 보호의 기반이 되고, 창업가에게는 미래를 준비하는 디딤돌이 되기를 바란다"며 "베이징대학 창업훈련영, 중소벤처기업진흥공단 등과 함께 국제적 경쟁력을 갖춘 창업 생태계를 조성하고, 노동과 창업이 함께 성장하는 파주를 만들어 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

The Paju Mutual Growth Support Center (located at 42 Gaeporae-ro), housed in a newly renovated building formerly used as the Munsan Library, is attracting attention as a unique model that supports both labor rights protection and startup revitalization in a single location.
