파주시가 오는 15일부터 12월 24일까지 문산도서관에서 'DMZ 생태 기획전시 「경계, 그 너머의 초록」'을 연다.

이번 전시는 경기문화재단이 주최한 '2025년 경기 지역문화기획자 인턴십 과정'의 일환으로 기획됐다.

 '프로젝트 녹' 팀 소속 다섯 명의 기획자와 파주 지역 문화예술 거점공간인 'DMZ 문화예술공간 통'이 공동으로 준비했으며, 경기문화재단과 ㈔농촌소멸지역희망네트워크가 후원했다. 별일사무소와 문산도서관은 협력기관으로 참여했다.

전시는 파주 비무장지대(DMZ)를 중심으로 사람과 생태가 공존하는 풍경을 영상, 사진, 소리 등 다양한 감각 매체로 기록한 작품들로 구성된다. 

통일촌과 해마루촌, 장단면 등 접경 지역 주민과 생태 연구자의 대담을 바탕으로, 전쟁의 상흔 속에서도 이어지는 일상과 기후변화로 변모하는 환경의 모습을 조명한다.

주요 전시 내용은 ▲DMZ 일대 주민의 목소리와 풍경을 담은 영상 자료 ▲여섯 지역의 실제 환경음을 수록한 소리지도 ▲DMZ 주민이 직접 촬영한 필름 사진전 ▲관람객이 기억 속 초록의 장면을 엽서에 적어 남기는 참여 공간 등으로 이뤄진다.

연계 전시 「경계의 생명들」도 함께 운영돼 'DMZ 문화예술공간 통'이 포착한 곤충, 식물, 동물 등의 생태사진을 통해 DMZ가 품은 자연의 생명력을 보여준다.

전시 기간 중 매주 화요일과 목요일 오후 3시에는 시민 대상 전시 해설 프로그램이 운영된다. 

오는 20일에는 파주시 도서관 사서들을 위한 전시 기획 과정 공유 교육도 진행될 예정이다.

이인숙 문산도서관장은 "이번 전시는 접근이 제한된 DMZ를 공공도서관이라는 열린 공간에서 시민과 함께 나누는 시도"라며 "일상 속에서 생태와 공존의 가치를 다시 바라보는 계기가 되길 바란다"고 말했다.

Paju City will host the "DMZ Ecology Special Exhibition: Green Beyond the Border" at Munsan Library from December 15th to December 24th.

This exhibition was planned as part of the "2025 Gyeonggi Regional Cultural Planner Internship Program" hosted by the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation.

The exhibition was jointly prepared by five planners from the "Project Nok" team and "DMZ Cultural Arts Space Tong," a Paju cultural arts hub, and was supported by the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation and the Rural Disappearance Hope Network. Byeolil Office and Munsan Library participated as collaborating organizations.

The exhibition features works documenting the landscape of human and ecological coexistence, centered around the Paju Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), using various sensory media such as video, photography, and sound.

Based on conversations between residents of border areas like Tongilchon, Haemaruchon, and Jangdan-myeon, as well as ecological researchers, the exhibition sheds light on the daily lives that persist despite the scars of war and the changing environment due to climate change.

Key exhibition features include: ▲Video footage capturing the voices and landscapes of DMZ residents; ▲Sound Maps featuring actual environmental sounds from six regions; ▲Photos taken by DMZ residents themselves; ▲An interactive space where visitors can write down green scenes from their memories on postcards.

A related exhibition, "Life on the Border," will also be held, showcasing the natural vitality of the DMZ through ecological photographs of insects, plants, and animals captured by the DMZ Cultural Art Space Tong.

During the exhibition period, public information programs will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 PM.

On the 20th, a training session will be held for librarians at the Paju City Library to share the exhibition planning process.

Lee In-sook, director of Munsan Library, said, "This exhibition is an attempt to share the restricted access DMZ with citizens in the open space of a public library. I hope this will provide an opportunity to reexamine the value of ecology and coexistence in everyday life."
