파주시가 '기본사회 선도도시' 정책으로 행정안전부장관상을 수상하며 혁신적인 지방자치 모델로 주목받고 있다.

파주시는 지난 7일 국회 사랑재에서 열린 '2025 참좋은 지방자치 정책대회'에서 김경일 시장이 '기본사회 선도도시 파주'를 주제로 우수사례를 발표해 행정안전부장관상을 수상했다고 11일 밝혔다.

이번 대회에는 전국 48개 시군이 참가했으며, 그중 26개 시군이 우수사례를 발표했다. 

파주시는 국회의장상을 수상한 전남 영광군, 국무총리상을 받은 광주 서구에 이어 행정안전부장관상을 수상하며 파주형 기본사회 정책의 우수성을 입증했다.

파주시는 저출생, 저성장, 기후위기 등 복합적인 민생 위기 속에서 시민의 기본권을 보장하기 위해 2025년을 '파주시 기본사회의 원년'으로 선포하고, '기본소득·기본서비스·지속가능경제'라는 3대 축을 중심으로 체계적인 정책을 펼쳐왔다.

특히 위축된 소비심리 회복과 지역경제 활성화를 위한 '민생회복 생활안정지원금 지급', 지방정부 최초로 운영 중인 '학생전용 통학순환버스 파프리카' 등 지역사회의 안정과 회복력을 높이기 위해 추진한 다양한 사업들이 높은 평가를 받았다.
