파주시 청소년들이 일본군 위안부 피해자를 추모하는 창작 뮤직비디오로 정부 포상을 받아 화제가 되고 있다.

(재)파주시청소년재단 파주시청소년수련관 소속 청소년 동아리 '버스커(오픈마이크)'의 박예주 청소년과 대학생 서포터즈 'HAND'(박태민, 권규빈, 김나희)는 14일 2025년 일본군 위안부 피해자 기림의날 기념식에서 「2025년 일본군 '위안부' 피해자 관련 청소년 공모전」 영상·음악 부문 여성가족부장관상을 수상했다고 발표했다.

수상작 《소녀가 소녀에게》는 위안부 피해자들의 아픔을 현재를 살아가는 청소년의 시선으로 바라보며, 위로와 연대의 메시지를 담은 뮤직비디오다. 

특히 작사·작곡부터 녹음, 촬영, 편집, 기획에 이르기까지 모든 과정을 청소년들이 전문예술교육을 통해 직접 수행했다는 점에서 주목받고 있다.

작품은 파주시의 대표적인 역사 상징물인 '파주 평화의 소녀상' 앞에서 촬영됐다.

 DMZ와 인접한 파주의 지리적 특성과 맞물려 평화의 메시지를 더욱 깊이 있게 전달할 수 있었다. 

촬영 과정에서는 지역 주민들의 관심과 응원이 더해져 공동체적 연대의 가치를 보여주기도 했다.

작품에 출연한 박예주 청소년은 "단순히 기억하고 위로하는 것을 넘어서, 우리 세대가 어떻게 연대할 수 있을지를 깊이 고민하며 작품에 참여했다"며 "이번 수상이 저희 모두에게 큰 자부심과 앞으로 나아갈 동기를 주었다"고 수상 소감을 밝혔다.

파주시청소년수련관 박종훈 관장은 "이번 수상은 청소년들이 사회적 이슈를 스스로 고민하고, 예술을 통해 당당히 목소리를 낸 값진 결과"라며 "앞으로도 청소년의 자율성과 창의성을 기반으로 한 참여 활동을 적극 지원하겠다"고 말했다.

파주시청소년재단 원희복 대표이사는 "청소년들이 단순한 참여를 넘어 작품의 기획과 제작 전 과정에 주체적으로 참여했다는 점에서 매우 자랑스럽다"며 "앞으로도 청소년이 사회적 메시지를 문화와 예술로 표현할 수 있는 환경을 마련해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.

이번 수상은 청소년들이 역사적 아픔을 자신들만의 방식으로 기억하고 표현할 수 있음을 보여준 의미 있는 사례로 평가받고 있다.

Park Ye-ju, a youth member of the youth club "Busker (Open Mic)" affiliated with the Paju Youth Training Center, Paju City Youth Foundation, and university student supporters "HAND" (Park Tae-min, Kwon Gyu-bin, Kim Na-hee) announced on the 14th that they won the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award in the video and music category of the "2025 Youth Contest on Japanese Military 'Comfort Women' Victims" at the 2025 Memorial Day for Japanese Military Comfort Women Victims.
