고양특례시 덕양구 주교동은 지난주부터 이어지는 한파에 주거 취약계층(비닐하우스, 컨테이너 등)을 직접 방문해 안위를 확인하고, 필요 자원을 연계하는 등 겨울철 위기가구를 최소화하기 위해 힘썼다고 11일 밝혔다.

주교동은 도농 복합도시로 논밭, 농원이 많아 비닐하우스, 컨테이너에 거주하는 주민이 많고 1980년대 중후반에 개발돼 낙후된 빌라가 많다. 

특히, 1인 노인 가구 거주 비율이 높아 겨울철 한파 기간 집중 관리가 필요하다.

이에 주교동 행정복지센터는 주거 취약계층 가구에 방문해 난방 기구 점검, 난방용품(핫팩, 전기 매트, 겨울 이불 등) 전달, 건강음료 등 먹거리 지원, 필요시 임시 거처 마련하는 등 추위를 피할 수 있도록 지원했다.

또한 주교동을 중심으로 지역사회보장협의체, 통장협의회 등 민관이 협력해 1인 노인 가구, 장애인 가구 등 취약계층의 안위를 확인하는 등 촘촘한 복지 안전망을 가동해 겨울철 복지 위기에 대응했다.
