고양특례시가 2024년 한 해 동안 중앙부처 등에서 주관하는 각종 평가에서 괄목할 만한 성적을 거두며 총 77건(산하기관 포함)의 기관표창을 수상했다고 8일 밝혔다.

특히, 시는 시정혁신, 도시정비, 일자리, 경제, 복지, 안전환경, 교육문화, 교통 등 시정 전반에 걸친 치우침 없는 우수한 시정역량을 인정받았다.

시는 경기도 31개 시·군의 행정역량을 종합적으로 보여주는 대표적인 평가인 시군종합평가에서 인구 50만 이상의 10개 도시에서 1위를 차지하며 최우수 지자체로 선정됐다. 

이는 2024년 정부합동평가 2년 연속 1그룹(50만 이상 10개 도시) 최우수 달성에 이어 경기도 시군종합평가에서도 2관왕을 2년 연속 달성으로 고양시가 경기도를 선도하는 지자체임을 보여주는 것으로 그 의미가 크다.

또한, 다산 정약용 선생의 목민정신을 실천하는 기초지방자치단체에 수여되는 상인 행정안전부 주관 ‘제16회 다산목민대상’에서 본상을 수상했으며, 지속 가능한 균형발전 및 주민의 쾌적한 삶을 위해 노력한 성과를 인정받아 국토교통부 주관 ‘2024년 대한민국 도시대상’에서 국무총리상을 수상했다. 

아울러 고양시는 도시의 지속가능한 균형발전 및 안전·교통환경 개선 등 주민의 쾌적한 삶을 위한 정책 성과를 인정받아 눈길을 끌었다. 

시는 범죄 예방을 위한 정책인 ▲국토교통부 거점형 스마트시티 조성사업 선정으로 시민 중심의 안전·교통환경 개선 ▲지능형 CCTV 및 통합 관제센터 운영에서 우수한 평가를 받아 국토교통부 주관 ‘2024년 대한민국 도시대상’ 에서 종합평가 우수 지자체로 선정되어 국무총리상을 수상했으며, ▲차 없는 거리사업, ▲전 시민대상 자전거 안전보험 ▲보행낙후지역 개선사업 등 자전거 또는 보행활성화 노력을 인정받아 국토교통부 주관‘2024년 지속가능 교통도시 평가’에서 최우수기관으로 선정됐다.

또한, 급속한 고령화 사회 속 경쟁력 있고, 수익창출이 가능한 시장형 노인일자리를 확대해 다양한 사회참여 기회를 제공한 노력에 대한 성과를 보였다. 

행주농가, 할머니와재봉틀, 시니어편의점 시장형 사업단 운영을 통해 올해 ‘전국 기초자치단체장 매니페스토 우수사례 경진대회’ 경제적 불평등 완화 분야에서 1위 최우수상을 차지했다. 

이외에도, 심각한 저출생 위기 대응을 위해 아이 키우기 좋은 도시 환경 조성을 위해 출산부터 양육까지 체감할 수 있는 맞춤형 지원 정책으로 ▲출산지원금 및 첫만남이용권 등 적극적인 경제적 지원 ▲영유아부터 아동·청소년까지 다양한 돌봄서비스 정보를 제공하는 ‘다모아 아동돌봄e’ 시스템 개설 등을 추진하며, ‘2024년 국가대표브랜드 대상’ 아이 키우기 좋은 도시 부문에서 대상을 수상했다.
