파주시 운정1동은 지난 27일 성탄절을 맞아 더라이프(The Life)교회로부터 약 100만 원 상당의 ‘사랑을 전하는 따뜻한 희망상자 10개’를 전달받았다고 밝혔다.

‘따뜻한 희망상자’는 더라이프교회가 후원한 5만 원과 국제구호개발(NGO)인 희망친구 기아 대책이 후원받은 물품을 더해 10만 원 상당의 식료품과 생필품으로 구성되어 있다. 

최용택 더라이프교회 담임목사는 “희망상자가 지역의 어려운 분들에게 힘과 희망이 되길 바라며, 지역사회를 위해 봉사와 나눔 활동을 계속 실천하겠다”라고 전했다.

조동준 운정1동장은 “더라이프교회의 꾸준한 나눔과 관심 덕분에 많은 분들이 따뜻한 겨울을 보낼 수 있게 됐다”라며 “지역 내 도움이 꼭 필요한 분들께 희망상자를 잘 전달하겠다”라고 말했다.

한편, 더라이프교회는 올해 상반기에도 성도들의 헌금을 모아 성금 50만 원을 기탁했으며, 연이어 세 번째로 현물 기부를 하며 나눔에 앞장서고 있다.[파주=빅정호 기자]
