고양도시관리공사는 여름철 더위에 취약한 어르신, 어린이 등 시민의 건강한 여름나기를 위해 「무더위 쉼터」를 2024년 7월 15일부터 운영하고 있다고 18일 밝혔다.

상시 저온으로 유지되는 빙상장을 이용하여 무더위에 지친 시민들이 관람석에서 피서를 즐길 수 있으며, 다가오는 여름방학을 맞아 이용객들이 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상된다.

무더위 쉼터의 운영시간은 12시부터 18시까지이며 음식물, 주류 반입 및 돗자리 사용은 금지된다. 

스케이트 이용은 입장권과 대여료를 지불하여 이용할 수 있고, 쉼터는 8월 31일까지 운영할 계획이다.

무더위 쉼터를 이용한 시민은 “올해 여름 더위를 어떻게 이겨내나 걱정되었는데 어울림누리 무더위 쉼터를 이용할 수 있어 다행이고 감사하다”라고 말했다.
