고양시는 제21주년 6.15 남북정상회담을 기념해 오는 15일 김대중 대통령 사저 기념관을 개관한다.

시는 지난해 3월 사저를 매입한 뒤 올해 1월부터 리모델링 공사를 시작했다.

거실, 안방, 서가 등이 있는 본채 1층과 2층은 건축물을 보전하고 내부는 김 전 대통령이 과거 사용했던 가구 등을 그대로 남겼다.

별채는 사저 방문객들을 대상으로 김 전 대통령이 지향했던 평화·인권·민주주의를 체험하고 교육하는 전시관으로 조성됐다.

시는 홈페이지 내 별도의 예약창구를 만들어 7일부터 사전예약 신청을 받는다.

하루 3회 90분간 관람 프로그램을 운영하며 코로나19 상황으로 인해 관람객을 회차당 8인 이하로 제한한다.

앞서 시는 사저뿐만 아니라 김 전 대통령과 관련한 유물, 자료 확보를 위해 노력했다.
