파주시는 지난 30일 삼복더위를 맞아 파주시노인복지관 회원 900명을 대상으로 ‘건강 애(愛)너지 충전! 행복(福) 삼계탕’ 행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 기록적인 무더위가 이어지는 가운데 지역 어르신들이 건강하게 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 돕기 위해 마련됐다.

특히 지역사회 각계의 따뜻한 나눔이 더해져 의미를 더했다.

행사에는 KB국민은행의 현금 후원과 익명의 개인 후원, 주식회사 아워홈의 물품 후원 등이 함께해 어르신들에게 정성이 담긴 보양식을 전달했다.

이날 현장에는 손배찬 파주시장과 박세형 대한노인회장이 참석해 직접 어르신들에게 삼계탕을 배식하며 건강과 안부를 살폈다.

참석자들은 무더위 속에서도 어르신들의 건강한 여름나기를 응원하고 따뜻한 소통의 시간을 가졌다.

파주시는 복지관 이용이 어려운 취약계층 어르신들을 위한 맞춤형 지원도 함께 추진했다. 

취약계층 어르신 68가구에는 보양식을 지원했으며, 32가구에는 여름 김치를 전달했다. 

또한 냉방 환경 개선을 위해 25가구에 선풍기와 여름 이불 등 냉방 용품을 지원했다.

행사에 참석한 한 어르신은 “더위 때문에 입맛도 없고 기운이 없었는데, 따뜻한 삼계탕을 대접받으니 힘이 난다”며 감사의 마음을 전했다.

파주시는 이번 행사를 계기로 앞으로도 파주시노인복지관을 중심으로 계절별 특성을 반영한 건강 지원 프로그램과 정서 지원 사업을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다. 

이를 통해 지역 어르신들이 보다 안전하고 건강한 일상을 보낼 수 있도록 촘촘한 복지서비스를 확대해 나간다는 방침이다.
