파주시가 학생들의 스마트폰 의존도를 낮추고 배움과 소통 중심의 건강한 학교문화를 조성하기 위한 지원에 나섰다.

파주시는 지난 30일 지지향 다목적홀에서 열린 '폰 프리 스쿨(Phone Free School)' 선포식에 참석해 학생들이 학교생활 중 스마트폰 사용을 줄이고 독서와 예술, 스포츠 활동에 집중할 수 있는 교육환경 조성에 적극 협력하기로 했다고 밝혔다.

이번 선포식은 학교 일과 중 불필요한 스마트폰 사용을 줄이는 대신 독서(Reading), 예술(Arts), 스포츠(Sports) 활동을 확대하는 이른바 'RAS 교육'의 기반을 마련하기 위해 개최됐다. 

학생들이 디지털 기기에서 잠시 벗어나 다양한 체험 활동과 대면 소통을 통해 사고력과 사회성을 키울 수 있는 교육환경을 조성하는 데 의미를 두고 있다.
