고양특례시는 여름철 태풍과 국지성 호우에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 관내 배수펌프장 8개소에 대한 일제점검을 완료했다고 31일 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 장마 종료 이후 집중호우로 인한 시설물 피해를 예방하고 다가오는 태풍과 풍수해에 대비하기 위해 추진됐다. 

점검 대상은 구산·송포·대화·신평·강매·현천·도내·행신 배수펌프장 등 시 전역의 주요 배수펌프장이다.

고양시는 장마 기간 동안 실제 가동된 방재시설을 중심으로 이상 유무와 파손 여부를 집중적으로 확인했다. 

점검은 배수펌프를 비롯해 제진기, 수문, 전기 및 계장설비, 자동제어설비, 비상발전기 등 침수 예방에 핵심적인 시설 전반을 대상으로 실시됐다.

점검 결과 제진기와 계장설비 등에서 총 8건의 미비점이 확인됐다. 

이 가운데 현장에서 즉시 조치가 가능한 5건은 점검과 동시에 보수를 완료했으며, 추가 정비가 필요한 3건도 태풍이 본격적으로 내습하기 전에 신속히 보수를 마쳐 모든 시설을 정상 가동 상태로 유지할 계획이다.

시는 앞으로도 배수펌프장과 방재시설에 대한 상시 점검 체계를 유지하고 기상 상황에 맞춘 신속한 대응으로 침수 피해를 최소화한다는 방침이다.

고양시 관계자는 "장마 이후에는 배수펌프장 시설의 작은 이상도 대규모 침수 피해로 이어질 수 있는 만큼 더욱 철저한 점검과 신속한 보수가 중요하다"며 "앞으로도 태풍과 국지성 호우에 대비한 상시 점검 체계를 운영하고 24시간 대응 태세를 유지해 시민의 생명과 재산을 안전하게 보호하는 데 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
